My attorney had inquired with USCIS but hasn't received any response. As I mentioned earlier neither a SR, senator/congressman inquiry has helped!
I'd also send an email to NSC but got an generic message.
How can I write to USCIS director?

That is a fairly correct list of has_to_happen! but do you know there is a significant number or June 07 filers who have passed all these and have got their I-485 approved in the past week or so from the TSC. See and immigrationportal!

May ask you why you joined this organization if you say that only sick people are frustrated with the delay in GC. By that logic all of us are sick people! I think your comment was made in bad taste and crticizes all the hard work this organization and its members are doing.

Hi All,
here is my situation.I'm working in USA on L1B visa which is about to complete 5 years in sep 2010.my company A (employer and client )want to apply for L1A. Also another company B is filing H1B. now to make my stay here without going to india for the time being is this possible.
1) can both the companies apply for two different visa for a single person.
2) what are the pros and cons.
3) for conversion of L1B to L1A , is petition enough to stay in USA or do i need to go get the stamping.
also H1b start time is OCt and my petition expires in sep 2009 but i'm having I-94 till Nov 2011.
now how to manage one month time without going out of this country.
can anybody please help me with this.

Got the project, labor approved, h1b approved (filed in premium) and prewailing wage determination will be started from next week.damn, i should ve done this 4 yrs back. these guys r fast. Never join as fulltime employee if you dont have green card

On ther other hand I personally know a very highly educated guy (IITBombay, MS then PhD in Electrical Eng- with a specialization in wireless tech) who got his EB GC 2-3 years too late... by that time the tech boom was over but the housing boom had already begun... so he decided to wait a few more years. Now he feels bad about the whole thing, and wonders if he should have bought a home when he was on H1B-- even if it would be frought with risk! That way, he would have been a millionaire today-- just like his friends who got their GCs and bought homes well in time.
8 years later, the history is repeating itself.
500,000+ people are patiently waiting in the EB GC queue... and chances are they will helplessly watch as home prices hit the bottom, and then rebound a few years later.
Some of them might decide to take the plunge and buy a home to take advantage of the low prices. However, many of them may be simply denied this chance becasuse their future is tied to a plastic card that has to be renewed every year!
Singhsa, sorry cannot help you right now with the media... maybe you can try getting help from the IV-media team?

As a fellow and genuine member of the IT profession, it's our solemn duty to save our profession. I would suggest whoever is in hiring capacity, please do ask for copies of paychecks from previous employers to weed out false experiences. Also, always conduct a face to face interview even when you are hiring contractors.

There are consulting companies like visu consultants in India that have ties with all the low grade US universities trying to fill up their grad positions with those aspiring foreign students who can pay fee upto $6000 per semester and you see hoards of people with below average or no GRE scores (GRE will be waived for some universities) filling these positions and do odd jobs inbetween college hours to pay for their next semester and these are the people who actually take loans in their country to pay the high fee, these are the same people who join consulting companies and are hungry to get into jobs by hook or crook (resume massaging) so they they can pay off their debts.
So what is happening is a rippling effect. These days a lot of good H1bs or F1s are not coming here in big numbers because of lack of funding in research or good promising jobs in home countries. People coming through education consulting and moving to jobs through consulting companies has been on rise because of this trend

I think you are absolutely right. The only chance that legals have is through a CIR. I have been watching the trends for the last 3 years and everytime anyone wants to put anything for legals, it is shot down. It is not that house and senate can;t do it but it will be a political suicide. It really doesn't matter - you are democrat or republican. All Americans are afraid to lose jobs. They are concerned about immigrants taking away jobs. In my opinion, things will continue like this at least for next couple of years or so.

IV is for legals who are already here legally and our demands are very simple, such as if they allow use to file I485 with being current and if they use unused visa numbers and allocate them to over subscribed countries our life will be lot better,
we need to rethink our stratergy and stop knocking these law makers, who cares only about illegals, either they are against them or far them, but they just don't really care about legals

if you read previous discussion and particulary logiclife post, you will find, any immigration reform bill will not be discussed let alone passed until it resolves illegal immigration issue
gone are the days where h1b increase use to be part of some budget bill.
you just can't do that any more
only chance SKILL has is thru CIR or other forum where it address illegal issue,
my point is we don't need any legislative change at this point,
