I was part of the rally... I am proud of IV and everyone who attended it..WHAT tri-state chapter are you talking about ?? How many people are enrolled in it and how many showed up for the rally???
We have a yahoogroups - I am not sure how many attended from that but it has been passive with only few members posting always - I was constantly posting on that urging people to join the rally.

Till date USCIS has supposedly received request for 2802 EB2 India visa (India Quota). So it could be assumed that at least 2802 cases are pending before 04/2004 (October and Nov 2007 Visa bulletin).
Assuming you are right then,
average visa issued for EB1 ROW+Non ROW over the last 5 years have been 26K,
Now assuming this year the demand would be close to average then. It leaves 14K for EB2
Implying 12/2003 dates movement is very likely as 14k>5k (your number)

INFO PROVIDED FOR UK IS INCORRECT.
Last year my wife (who is on H4) but with a valid US visa stamp on her passport was NOT allowed to board a Continental Airlines flight at Houston airport on her way to India. She was sent home even though she had valid US visa in passport as she did not have UK Transit visa.
We tried pour level best to convince the ppl at the flight desk but they wouldnt let her check in because of transit visa issues. So please be very careful while transiting through London. We had to pay and reroute via Paris the next day.

btw, during the dotcom thing, just the telecom company hit was close to $750 billion. And with the big VC funded ventures completely got wiped out, the losses were much large.
also the people that were affected, huge job losses. thousands of people showing up at small job fairs. it was a recession. economies go into recession, and come out of it.
And media likes pessimism, they like destruction, mayhem. If you have not figured that out yet, it is time.
yes, some of the concerns are valid, but you talk like nostradamus, as if you know whats happenin. like the country is going to pack its bags and every citizen is going back to where their ancestors came from. get real.
economies fail, its how much time it takes to bounce back is what matters.
I would say just chill, spend quality hours at your job then you did before, keep it secure, spend time with your family. live your life happily.

This time it is not going to strengthen US position. China is talking about creating a separate world currency and they are not happy with US currency. If china dumps, dollars, a lot of countries will follow.
This is just financial institues. It will have ripple effect on rest of the economy.
FDIC doesn't protect more than 100K if you open different accounts in the same bank. However joint accounts and beneficiary can get you protected for 200K.

We must go to court for the correct interpretation and enforcement of UNUSED VISA from ROW / undersubscribed catagories. THERE IS NO CASE FOR EVEN WAITING FOR ONE QUARTER. 20,000 VISA are available unused at a given time, they should ALL be immediately allocated to the guys in the Q.
This will benefit all EB 2 / EB 3
We really should not have any debate about loosing the case etc... Let us try and loose the case... At least , we will have the satisfaction of trying...

Just think about in the other way.
What if the officer gets upset while you remain silent....
You don't have to post such experience as everybody knows what would happen.
Clearly dude, you have no idea what you are talking about. we are not talking about a situation like what to do if a thug holds you at gunpoint and asked for money. we talking about a Govt rule or law. it's about what is right and what is wrong. The officer could throw a bad word at you like "i am pretty sure you are terrorist" which would be in our favor. worst case he would shoot me, but chances of that happening are next to zero.
I want to remain silent, raise suspicion, make them scramble to find out who i am, make them feel like working hard only to find out that I have made a fool of them. That's the only way they would realize how stupid the rule is.
Just imagin that Sunday 1000 people had remained silent, they would have to call to their superiors for more officers, more cars, more laptops, documents, more running around, etc. That would have become an issue in the state senate where the budget is already tight, they are fighting for pennies and the nonsense border patrol has spent millions in a day to find NOTHING (because ALL illegals had escapped by saying one word "CITIZEN").

Dr. Emilio Gonz�lez Ask USCIS is over, we were hoping atleast we get a mention in this chat, but like everywhere we do not even get a mention, thats our plight.
That was the reason we were requesting IV to set up some kind of webfax to USCIS director, atleast he would be aware of the retrogression issue, then we can build our case from there.
But any way it is a waste of time.

It would be better to focus our energies in a directed fashion on some core issues that have been identified by the core team. Media, Senators, House members and other have become familiar with our issues. Will it be worthwhile to add these new provisons that might dilute our original charter? Let us address the key causes e.g. few immigrant visas, family counted towards visa numbers, re-capture past visas, increase immigrant visas etc.

Employment Letter is Required. I would even go to the extent of emphasising to put original letter instead of a photocopy. Do not take chances. The application can be rejected/RFE can be issued in the absece of initial evidence. Read the new memo and educate yourself rather then blindly believing members or lawyers. Ignorance of law is not an excuse if you were to challenge a denial notice. When all information is available, make yourself educated. and BTW get a good lawyer to file your application so that each and every small detail can be taken care of.
