Ra.One
SRK hopes to create the sci-fi history in Indian cinema with his ambitious home production Ra.One that has him playing a superhero named G.One. The movie will have SRK doing breath-taking stunts, and Arjun Rampal as a bald baddie. Kareena Kapoor plays SRK’s love interest. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film also has a song by Akon. The film will most likely release by Diwali 2011.
Dhobi Ghat
Aamir Khan, the man with the Midas Touch, returns to theatres in January with wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghat. The film also stars Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra, Kriti Malhotra, Kitu Gidwani and Nafisa Khan. It tells the story of four characters in downtown Mumbai. Though each comes from a different class of society, their lives are subtly intertwined. It will release on January 21, 2011.
Ready
After the bone-crushing action in Dabangg, Salman Khan will make a comeback to the big screen in Anees Bazmee’s comedy film Ready, co-starring Asin. The film is a remake of the 2008 Telugu film of the same title. It will release on May 27, 2011.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
With its title taken from the lyric of the song “Rock On!”, Zoya Akhtar’s second film as director Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is about the lives of five individuals, played by Hrithik, Katrina, Farhan, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin. The film is about living life to the fullest. It has been shot entirely in Spain and also features a sequence in which the male stars run with the bulls.
Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji
Madhur Bhandarkar takes a break from serious cinema and comes up with a light-hearted comedy film Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, starring Ajay Devgan, Shazahn Padamsee, Emraan Hashmi, Shruti Haasan, Omi Vaidya and Shraddha Das. It’s about three guys who have different takes on love. It will release on January 28, 2011.
Patiala House
In director Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House, Akshay Kumar plays Punjabi guy living in Southall, London. He is a talented bowler who gets a chance to play for the English team. But his father (Rishi Kapoor), a stiff-upper-lipped patriot, is too proud an Indian to let his son play for the Brits. So, our hero is stuck in a dilemma. Should he stick to the humdrum existence of running the family shop in Southall or should he follow his dreams. The movie also stars Anushka Sharma and Dimple Kapadia.
Don 2
After shocking the movie buffs with an unexpected twist in the plot in Don, Farhan Akhtar is now returning with the film’s sequel which has been shot in Berlin and stars Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor. The film has a stunt in which SRK jumped from the top of a building in Berlin. Hrithik Roshan makes a guest appearance in the film. It will release on Xmas weekend 2011.
Agent Vinod
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor get back together for Saif’s home production Agent Vinod, directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film is an action thriller on the lines of James Bond films, and has been shot in Morocco and Mumbai. Its release date is still undecided.
Game
Abhishek Bachchan plays a druglord in the action thriller Game while Kangana Ranaut plays a cop on his hot pursuit. Model Sarah Jane Dias plays a mystery lady called Maya. The film, directed by Abhinay Deo, was shot in Istanbul, Greece, London, Thailand and Mumbai. It will release on March, 2011.
Rockstar
Watch Ranbir Kapoor in dreadlocks and strumming the six-string in director Imtiaz Ali’s film Rockstar which has primarily been shot in New Delhi. It is believed that Ranbir’s character in the movie is modelled on the rock legend Jim Morrison of ‘The Doors’. The film also introduces newcomer Nargis Fakhri. It will release May 27, 2011.
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan
Imran Khan falls in love with the bride-to-be of his brother Ali Zafar in this film by Yash Raj Films. Mere Brother Ki Dulhan has Katrina Kaif playing the love interest of the two guys. The film is directed by the first-timer Ali Abbas Zafar. It will release on second half of 2011.
Mausam
Shahid Kapoor turns into an air force pilot in dad Pankaj Kapur’s directorial debut Mausam. It is believed that the film will span 40 years of a characters life, detailing the different seasons of love. Sonam Kapoor plays Shahid’s love interest in the film. It will release on July 2011.
Saat Khoon Maaf
A Vishal Bhardwaj film is always waited with bated breath by everyone. This time the maverick film-maker adapts a story by Ruskin Bond into a film about a woman who kills her seven husbands. Saat Khoon Maaf stars Priyanka Chopra in the lead role. Her husbands are played by Irrfan Khan, Naseerudin Shah, Neil Nitin Mukesh among others that also includes a Russian actor. It will release on February, 2011.
