I was assured that EB3-I would not move beyond one month until my son turns 18, which is another 17 years.
They moved it 3 months ahead so soon.

There are always two sides of coin and so is the half glass full, a half glass empty.
Bottomline is if such bills turn into bill, its not just immigrant community but the economy as whole gets impacted.

Clearly the guys who proposed this bill do not think that it will have negative impact on the economy. To the contrary, these guys seem to think that it will free up jobs for Americans, currently occupied by the undeserving immigrants.
The intensity of these amendments are increasing. Earlier it was on Tarp companies. Now this amendment is for all companies that have laid off workers. I interpret the language to include "work authorization" which means EAD. Even if it doesn't include EAD, say this amendment will pass, then what is next? In next phase they will come after EAD, won't they?

who has given you the right to name call, when I have not used any profanity words? Please choose your words carefully, as it does not reflect a good reputation on part of a person who is trying to make a point and bring awareness.
Just because you have 1485 filed much before your PD and have the better half of the situation, does not allow you to be an advocator on behalf of IV.
The question was means for IV and PAPPU, and to galvanize this organization to do something big, than take things for granted.

My wife is in US since Aug, 2006 on H4.
We missed the H1-B filing last year and it doesn't look good this year too (although her petition got submitted on the first day).
Her last four years job profile (as of now):
- 2.5 years for 'Company A' (one of the top 3 Indian s/w company)
- 10 months for 'Company B'
- 8 months on H4 (in US) - NO work
Can she apply through 'Company A' for an L1 (as she has worked more than a year continuously in the last three years)?
OR its only for an company you are working for currently?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As i said, eb3 to eb2 porting is not easy....Unless, there is very strong case, like applicant having US Masters degree but employer filed in EB3 for reasons they only know....

house is 100 times more conservative than senate (does not matter if it is democratic controlled house and republican controlled house). If you think house is going to give us EB immigrants a break then you are completely off base. For every kyl, durbin and Kennedy in senate you will have three times more kyl, durbin and Kennedy in the house. House will take the senate bill and make some adjustments to it and not modifications. This bill cannot be repaired by amendments it is fundamentally flawed for us.whatever passes from the senate is the final bill, house will either reject it or rubber stamp it.
It looks like without H1b restrictions you may not get anything. That is mood in the Senate. If CIR is not coming what is your idea? Skill bill seperately is difficult if not impossible. Last minute they may increase H1b for a few years(But last minute increase of GC is impossible. You might have learned lesson on last lame duck session and February 2007) that will further screw up Gc waiting persons.If CIR comes you can have a chance of some favorable amendment in House if not happens in Senate. Also if you oppose CIR you are joining with your enemy and you have risk of losing crediblity. Compete America does not oppose CIR and they are opposing some portions and trying Amendments and they did not advice to any Senator to oppose the bill

2010, all those who filed 485 by 2006 will be cleared up and will be given GC, 2010 end there will be another wave of 485 filers who will continue as cash cows for next 5 years for EAD and AP, 2007 july filers will be cleared up by 2012. Do not ask the source of information it is more of stock market and weather forecast were in stocks falls and gains every 5th year and 6th of June is the first day of monsoon in mumbai....:D

I am not sure what stopped members from local areas(VA/MD) from coming to the rally.
There were 10 people from Tampa, Florida(about 1000 miles from DC). Tampa is a small city in Florida and there aren't that many tech workers. I am thankful to each one who was able to make it to the Rally.
I was there in rally with my wife and eight month old baby. It was a vast change of weather for the baby who has been in FL ever since birth.
